Environment, Occupational Safety and Health
The Group’s continuous efforts towards good Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health management practise has resulted in being awarded the ISO 14001: 2004 for environmental management and OHSAS 18001: 2007 for Occupational Health and Safety Management.
To further achieve its objectives, the Group ensures the compliance by not only restricting the use of hazardous substances but also the proper disposal of industrial waste. Steps are taken to ensure that the industrial waste is properly disposed of by authorised agents in order to prevent pollution.
The safety and health of our employees at the workplace is important to the Group. Continuous efforts are ongoing to observe safety features and implement health policies at the work place. Emphasis is placed on the use of personnel protective equipments such as ear plugs, safety masks, respirators, goggles and safety helmets.
Induction training for new recruits and fire drills for all members of the staff are being organised regularly.
Employee
The Group enhance its staff knowledge through various in-house training exercises. Selected members of the staff are sent for external training where specialised skills are required. Annual dinners, outdoor and in-house group activities are held to promote staff unity. Another notable feature is 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise and Sustain) interdepartmental competitions being organised with its objective to create awareness among the participants in the maintenance of cleanliness at the workplace.
Social
The Group embraces the philosophy of giving support to the community by contributing to society via donation to various charitable bodies and non-governmental organisations including providing industrial training for students from Colleges.
